Natalie Jernigan is a supervising licensed professional clinical counselor and registered art therapist who completed her graduate work at Ursuline College. She has a broad range in clinical practice, working with people from preschool-age through adulthood. She became intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT in 2011 through Behavioral Tech, continued with advanced DBT training in 2014, and completed intensive training in the DBT Prolonged Exposure Protocol in 2018, and has foundational training in RO DBT. Other evidence based intensive training includes CBT-P through NEOMED, TEAM -CBT, Mindfulness based CBT. Other clinical competencies include, Unified Protocol, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems , Exposure Response Prevention. Natalie has been a practicing Art Therapist for over 20 years.

Natalie has experience in treating a variety of issues including Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other complex traumas, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, ADHD, and other issues of social and emotional development . She was recognized by the ADAMHSCC board with the Helping Hands award in 2018 for her work in dialectical behavior therapy.

I have been a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 23 years of experience in the mental health profession.Utilizing a strength’s-based approach, I believe helping you to set realistic and achievable goals is pivotal to a successful outcome of self-sufficiency and self-care.Working from a place of compassion, flexibility and sensitivity, I also recognize and incorporate in treatment the importance of different life factors (e.g., family, cultural and environment) that heavily influence us socially and emotionally and our abilities to cope with challenges.

Informed by evidenced based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy as well as using psychoeducation and goal setting, I will work alongside you to promote long-term symptom reduction and balance in your social (work, school, family) and emotional functioning.As a Certified Telemental Health provider, I am actively engaging in training that allows me to provide you with the most effective use of telecommunication to meet your therapeutic needs.
